Refinement captures the intense moment where God’s refining power purifies the soul through fire, pressure, and surrender. The radiant golden hand symbolizes the spirit being renewed and elevated, while the darkened hand gripping tightly below represents sin, bondage, fear, and the forces of darkness attempting to prevent breakthrough.
Yet even the grip of darkness begins to crack, burn, and crumble beneath the overwhelming power of divine purification. Surrounded by smoke, embers, and light, this piece reflects the painful yet beautiful process of being made new — where everything impure is consumed so purpose, freedom, and holiness can emerge.
